The Past Events In West Hunan
Chen Changsheng was a corpse herder in Daoguang Period of Qing Dynasty. What he does is to bell his copper ring to lead the corpse. Moreover, he has a scripture called “Soul Sutra”which gives him the sorcery to make zombie soldiers from the corpses. The fighting strength of a zombie soldier depends on its resentment. The strongest zombie can be invulnerable to swords and spears.
However, a very powerful Manchu princess accused the Chen family of colluding with the rebels in order to snatch his “Soul Sutra” to seek living forever. One night, the whole family was slaughtered by the princess, Chen himself was also poisoned and blinded. They threw Chen into a cave full of corpses.
In the cave, Chen had never felt the anguish like this. He decided to get revenge. He used the secret technique from the scripture which makes himself half living and half dead. Now his eyes regain sight, and he can also command the old corpses within hundreds miles.
The first stage of his revenge is the county magistrate who led the army to kill his family members. It was a mid-autumn night, the county magistrate was celebrating the festival with his family. When suddenly the copper bell rang outside the door, Chen led tens of zombies into the yard. The zombies were wearing shrouds and their faces were rotting. What’s more thrilling, you can see endless dead soldiers crawling out of the coffin, scaring the county magistrate to death.
The next goal is the princess living in Beijing. Chen walked slowly to the capital. Along the way, all those who harmed him became a zombie after their death. When arriving in Beijing, Chen already had a zombie army of more than 3000 zombies which is invulnerable to swords and spears, even the British’s fire guns.
It was the princess’s 60th birthday. The whole palace was decorated with lanterns, and dignitaries gathered to celebrate his birthday. Suddenly the original clear sky was covered with dark clouds, and Chen led his zombie army breaking into the princess’s palace. Chen had created the strongest zombie utilizing the corpse of the princess’s son. Chen not only killed the princess, but also let the princess experience the extreme anguish—betraied by his own son.
After finishing his revenge, Chen lost his magic power and therefore died because he was in a status of half living and half dead. And the “Soul Sutra” also disappeared with Chen’s death.
